Happy Earth Day!

The theme of this year鈥檚 Earth Day is Restore Our Earth. 黑料福利社 is proud to support projects doing meaningful work in environment-related fields. Two such projects are The Predistribution Initiative and The Business Council on Climate Change.

The is a multi-stakeholder effort to improve investment structures so that, among other objectives, systemic and systematic risks including inequality and climate change are addressed. The Predistribution Initiative recently published a working paper, that looks at how the growth of institutional investors and certain asset allocation strategies can conflict with environmental, social, and governance (ESG)聽objectives.聽On聽April 28, at 9am PT, The Predistribution Initiative will be hosting a webinar to present their research.

is a multi-sector partnership dedicated to incubating, scaling, and sharing world-leading solutions to address climate change. BC3 recently hosted a panel discussion, 鈥淎ctivating Community for Climate Action,鈥 to hear from community leaders on how BC3鈥檚 MyCAP (My Climate Action Plan) tool can help engage their communities in climate action. The聽聽is now available to the public for free.


U.S. Digital Response Virtual Events

Join for a virtual panel, 鈥淒igital First Response: How to make technology work for the public during the next crisis,鈥 on Wednesday, May 5 from 12pm to 1pm PT. This panel will bring together some of the best minds from government and technology to discuss how government service delivery will transform based on the challenges and opportunities governments have faced over the past few years. USDR CEO and Cofounder Raylene Yung will cohost the event with the cofounder of , Alexis Madrigal.

USDR hosted its first ever 鈥淒emos Not Memos鈥 Community Celebration on April 20 to celebrate the work of their volunteers during year one of USDR. Current and alumni volunteers gave demos, discussed USDR鈥檚 programs, and received insights into the future of USDR from CEO Raylene Yung. Happy first anniversary!


Global Philanthropy Project鈥檚 Latest Report

published a report last month titled聽Manufacturing Moral Panic: Weaponizing Children to Undermine Gender Justice and Human Rights.聽The report was co-developed by GPP and Elevate Children Funders Group. The report dives into how child protection rhetoric is used by gender-restrictive groups to create moral panic and strengthen illiberal politics. The research is supported by case studies in Bulgaria, Ghana, and Peru that expose how gender-restrictive groups collaborate around the world.


Attendance Works: 2021 Attendance Awareness Campaign

kicked off their 2021 Attendance Awareness Campaign with a webinar on how strong relationships, combined with the utilization of attendance data, are fundamental to improving student engagement. 鈥淐ommitted: Supporting Attendance and Participation to the Very Last Day of School鈥 was the first of four webinars that are part of the campaign. Attendance Works Executive Director Hedy Chang was joined by school principals, mentors, and other speakers, including Marcus Strother, President and CEO of , another fiscally sponsored project of 黑料福利社, who shared their experiences and insights on sustaining and expanding the participation of students and families during the last months of the school year.


Latino Outdoors Goes Backpacking

On Sunday, April 25 at 7pm PT, will be hosting an in-depth information session for their upcoming Intro to Women鈥檚 Backpacking trip. The backpacking trip will take place in Yosemite, June 25 to June 27, and is limited to ten participants.
