Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement (CSCCE)

Join the for their first monthly community call of 2024 as they host a conversation about . Participants will be encouraged to share perspectives on balancing individual self care with community engagement, connect with others in the CSCCE community of practice, and explore what type of tangible output from the conversation would best support STEM community managers.

MENTOR California

January is , and to help promote the benefits of mentoring, is joining with The Sacramento County Office of Education and My Brother’s Keeper Sacramento Collaborative for an inspiring evening as they delve into , an exploration of the intersectionality of the arts and mentoring. The event features speaker, Dr. Christopher Emdin, author of numerous award-winning works including Urban Science Education for the Hip-Hop Generation and New York Times bestseller For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood and the Rest of Y’all.

The event will be held January 23, 2024, at the SCOE Conference Center, 3661 Whitehead Street, Ste 100, in Mather, CA. Register .


Bay Area Community Health Advisory Council (BACHAC)

Kick off the new year with ! Early bird tickets are now available for their event. This free in-person event emphasizes the importance of getting at least 30 minutes of physical activity daily to maintain a healthy weight, lower cholesterol, reduce depression, and help in the prevention of health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and some forms of cancer. In addition to activities, the event includes a healthy breakfast and lunch plus many resources, including 20 health service booths providing information, insurance sign-ups, blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings, fresh juice shots, and goodie bags.

The event will be held Saturday, February 3, at 1950 University Circle, #6th Floor, Palo Alto, CA. Register .
