Black Funders Network: 1st Anniversary Celebration

奥补迟肠丑听 four-minute video听celebrating their first anniversary. BFN鈥檚听goal is to foster 鈥渁n aligned support network of Bay Area Black philanthropic professionals to connect, align, and (re)energize to best support Black communities and organizations across disciplines.鈥 Within their first year, they鈥檝e grown their network to over 100 participants, representing more than forty organizations, and have held over ten successful events with their partner programs. In the next year, BFN plans to continue to grow their network and provide professional resources for philanthropic success.


Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance: Rescuing Tiger King Park Big Cats

Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge (TCWR), a member sanctuary of the听听(BCSA), took part in the rescue of sixty-eight big cats from Tiger King Park, formerly owned by Joe Exotic (of reality television infamy). TCWR members made two trips to Oklahoma to bring back a total of thirteen cats, assist with transport of eight cats to other sanctuaries, and help place others through the BCSA. The cats were seized after the park鈥檚 current owners, Jeffery and Lauren Lowe, failed to comply with court orders to improve the big cats鈥 level of care.

Big Cat Sanctuary Alliance: #HoustonTiger Update

Also in BCSA news, a tiger recently found roaming the streets of Houston, TX, has found his new home. The tiger, referred to as #HoustonTiger on social media, was unharmed and will be held in Murchinson, TX, by BCSA sanctuary member Cleveland Amory Black Beauty Ranch.


Pre-Health Dreamers:听June 19th Online Conference

It鈥檚 not too late to purchase tickets for听鈥 (PHD) First Annual Conference: Revolutionizing the Health of Undocumented Communities. A series of workshops will be held, with focus on how to empower undocumented patients and their families as they navigate the healthcare system. RSVP deadline is June 16, 2021, and attendance is capped at 200.


Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement: New Research Collaboration Guide

Last month,听听(CSCCE)鈥檚 Director, Lou Woodley, facilitated a workshop on team science and collaborative research during the Zuckerman Institute鈥檚 Neuroscience Symposium. Attendees explored the importance of collaboration and worked with a brand new CSCCE tip sheet that provides tools for team efforts.
