The Carpentries has posted their first podcast with the goal of increasing engagement with their community by sharing conversations and discussions of interest in a format that is portable and accessible. Attendance Works Working on Re-engaging Students聽During the Pandemic
Attendance Works recognizes that challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic caused more youth than usual to leave school before graduating. America鈥檚 Promise and National League of Cities will be joining Attendance Works for a webinar on聽exploring promising strategies for re-engaging students who have dropped out of school. Community leaders and young people from around the country will be discussing engagement data, understanding absenteeism, new practices for re-engagement in specific communities, and more. The webinar is scheduled for March 25 from noon-1:30pm Pacific Time.
Castro Country Club: AIDS WALK 2021
Castro Country Club will be participating in this year’s virtual AIDS WALK 2021. AIDS WALK is one of Castro Country Club鈥檚 biggest annual fundraisers. They have set their goal at raising $50,000 this year.
Castro Country Club is also pleased to announce that their caf茅 is now offering limited indoor seating in addition to seating on their back deck in accordance with San Francisco reopening guidelines. Their caf茅 is located at 4058 18th St, San Francisco and is open 9am-7pm daily. If you鈥檙e looking for a way to get more involved with Castro Country Club, they are currently seeking volunteer baristas! Project Homeless Connect: New Outdoor Provider Drop-Ins
Project Homeless Connect’s outdoor Provider Drop-In Service day, held on February 24, was a success. Project Homeless Connect’s provider partner Downtown Streets Team connected nearly 40 participants with their work-experience program while Glide鈥檚 Daily Meal Program provided snack bags for participants. Project Homeless Connect just held its second outdoor Provider Drop-In day yesterday, March 24. This time, Project Homeless Connect was joined by Alcoholics Anonymous and the Mental Health Association of San Francisco. Once again, Glide鈥檚 Daily Meal Program provided food to participants. Both indoor and outdoor Provider Drop-Ins are scheduled over the next several months.
