Aces for Access funds youth-serving nonprofits with a focus on access, bridging the digital divide, STEM education, and youth development.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11878 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/communityinitiatives.org\/project-portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/hands-cscce.png\" alt=\"Hands joining in together\" width=\"1200\" height=\"600\" \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cscce.org\/\">Center for Scientific Collaboration and Community Engagement (CSCCE)<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>CSCCE&#8217;s &#8220;Scientific Community Engagement Fundamentals&#8221; online training course began on January 21 and will run through March 11. The course is &#8220;designed to offer new or existing community managers core frameworks and vocabulary to describe their community\u2019s purpose, refine or create strategic engagement programming to match community member goals, and describe their own roles and value as a community manager in STEM.&#8221; The current course is sold out, but you can <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSdmx5YlcM5Vfu52wZ-KMnXdhU8l6zpP8bQu97XNCe4GxXIvKA\/viewform\">pre-register for CSCCE&#8217;s other courses here.<\/a><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/carpentries.org\/\">The Carpentries<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11877 size-medium alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/communityinitiatives.org\/project-portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/git-hub-carpentries-300x136.jpeg\" alt=\"GitHub Pages jekyll\" width=\"300\" height=\"136\" \/>In a recent Incubator Lesson Spotlight, which highlights a lesson under development by the Carpentries&#8217; community, The Carpentries chose to highlight its &#8220;Building Websites with Jekyll and GitHub Pages&#8221; lesson. The Carpentries is currently looking for volunteers to <a href=\"https:\/\/carpentries-incubator.github.io\/jekyll-pages-novice\/\">test this lesson!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In other news, The Carpentries is <a href=\"https:\/\/carpentries.org\/blog\/2022\/01\/hiring-accessibility-coordinator\/\">hiring an Accessibility Coordinator<\/a>. The Accessibility Coordinator will have a broad responsibility for integrating accessibility standards and best practices across all areas of The Carpentries organization.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-11879 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/communityinitiatives.org\/project-portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/pre-health-dreamers-phd-building-better-spaces.png\" alt=\"Pre-Health Dreamers Building Stronger Connections &amp; A Safe Space for Undocumented Patients\" width=\"916\" height=\"413\" \/><\/h3>\n<h3><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.phdreamers.org\/\">Pre-Health Dreamers<\/a><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Pre-Health Dreamers (PHD) held an info session on the newly launched National Community Coalition on Monday, January 24. PHD&#8217;s National Community Coalition seeks to address barriers and empower institutions who seek to better assist and work with the undocumented community. PHD enriches the spaces they provide for the most historically excluded communities through training, support, and collaboration with the members that serve in these institutions.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3><strong>Get to Know 黑料福利社\u2019 Admin Staff!<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-11876 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/communityinitiatives.org\/project-portal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2022\/01\/audrey-roderick-300x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #da291c;\">Audrey Roderick<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Audrey became 黑料福利社&#8217; Senior Client Services Manager in May 2021. She brought with her over twenty years of nonprofit experience.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to joining 黑料福利社, Audrey was Executive Director of Urban Sprouts, an environmental justice organization in San Francisco, which gave her years of hands-on experience working with fiscal sponsors.<\/p>\n<p>Audrey is originally from the South Bay. Her favorite places in Northern California are Calistoga and Santa Cruz as she loves being near the ocean.
