\"\"Project Homeless Connect: Introducing New CEO!<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Dee Rosado-Chan became the new CEO of Project Homeless Connect<\/a> in November 2020. She has more than 20 years of experience and training working with individuals and families that are homeless or at-risk of homelessness. Dee\u2019s strength in providing strategic leadership through the use of innovative techniques and a Transformational Leadership style aligns well with Project Homeless Connect’s mission and core values. Her passion for the implementation of effective programming, equity, and advocacy for diverse homeless populations began when she joined San Francisco\u2019s Citizen Housing Corporation in 2000. Dee\u2019s most recent work as Vice President of Housing Services with The Health Trust saw her ensuring a quality of services for individuals and families challenged with homelessness, food insecurities, disabilities, as well as mental and health illness.<\/p>\n

The Joep Lange Institute is coordinating a convening process to discuss the value of national level health advocacy, the need for sustainable funding and potential for pooled resource mobilization to support this work. Immigrants Rising\u2019s<\/a> newest project \u201cLife Outside the U.S.: Transcending the American Dream\u201d is a comprehensive project designed to open up possibilities for undocumented individuals through engaging stories and clear information. The project uplifts the stories of formerly undocumented immigrants who are pursuing opportunities outside the U.S. due to the uncertainty and limitations they faced in this country.<\/p>\n

The project leads will be hosting a launch party conversation on December 15th<\/sup>\u00a0at 6:00pm PT to discuss their vision and hopes for the project.<\/p>\n

Attendance Works: Putting Students at the Center of School<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Attendance Works<\/a> Executive Director Hedy Chang recently interviewed Concentric Educational Solutions (Concentric) Executive Director David Heiber and Concentric COO Michael Gary Jr. about the theory of \u201cconcentricity\u201d \u2013 putting students at the center of school. Concentric has found that\u00a0providing a student-centric education experience through\u00a0home visiting frameworks, restorative practices, and support for school-wide attendance teams\u00a0improves attendance in urban schools.<\/p>\n
