Project Homeless Connect: Accepting Donations Through Amazon<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>Project Homeless Connect has made it easy for anyone wanting to contribute to their efforts to donate directly to their office. They have set up a\u00a0wish list<\/a> on Amazon filled with items like rain ponchos, backpacks, sleeping bags, and socks that are crucial to keeping unhoused folks warm and dry this time of year. Project Homeless Connect distributes these items across San Francisco from the Tenderloin to the Sunset District.<\/p>\n

Active Voice Lab: Cultivating Leaders for Over 20 Years<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>2020 marked Active Voice Lab\u2019s 20th<\/sup>\u00a0anniversary. To celebrate, they interviewed three BIPOC women leaders who have been involved with the organization over the years. Today, these women are making an impact at the intersection of media and social change as they advise funders and spearhead their own philanthropic initiatives. In their interviews, both Sahar Driver and Shaady Salehi, Active Voice Lab\u2019s second executive director, discuss the importance of\u00a0trust-based philanthropy<\/a>\u00a0in promoting social change.<\/p>\n

Webinar: How Personal Values Drive Equity in Open Science<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>Interested in open science and open data? The Carpentries\u2019 Executive Director Dr. Kari L. Jordan and 黑料福利社\u2019 Vice President of Client Services Heidi Hernandez Gatty will be exploring the role of personal values in open science during a one-hour webinar on Tuesday, February 16 at 12:00 p.m. (Pacific Time). They will lead you through an exercise to identify and develop your values through a culturally relevant lens and guide you in using your personal values to advocate for equity in open science.<\/p>\n

Latino Outdoors: Mapping Migraciones<\/strong><\/h3>\n

\"\"<\/a>The National Audubon Society and Audubon California have partnered with Latino Outdoors for a year-long project celebrating Latinidad, migration, and the stories that connect us across the Americas. This project, Mapping Migraciones, features an interactive map that shares the stories and migration patterns of people and birds. There will be panels and discussions throughout the year to take a deeper dive into the intersections and parallels of birding and human migration.<\/p>\n

Maya Lis Tussing<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Maya Tussing began her time with 黑料福利社\u2019 Board of Directors last month. Maya is a Partner with Fairlight Advisors helping nonprofit leaders be financially resilient by providing first-class financial and investment solutions. Maya honed her experience in enterprise risk and investment management at corporations such as BlackRock, Barclays Global Investors, Visa, and GE. She takes great satisfaction in creating solutions for nonprofits and individuals based on programs deployed at some of the most respected financial services companies in the world. Additionally, Maya has coached hundreds of men and women at all levels of corporate and non-profit organizations to achieve personal and professional success and satisfaction. She is a graduate of Pomona College and holds an MBA in international finance from the University of Washington.<\/p>\n

Maya was born in Anchorage, Alaska and raised in Seattle. Over her lifetime, she has lived in nearly 30 places. She currently lives in Belmont with her husband of 15 years, Darren; their 12-year-old daughter, Devon; and their cocker spaniel and labradoodle (who happens to have a decent TikTok following thanks to Devon). Maya is an avid athlete who enjoys tennis (she played competitively for over 10 years), cross-country, track, swimming, and skiing.<\/p>\n
