We鈥檝e heard concerns from our community regarding H.R. 9495 and how it might affect nonprofit organizations. While the bill stalled in the U.S. Senate, similar proposals could resurface. At 黑料福利社, we remain informed and prepared to support our projects through any regulatory shifts.

Key Facts 黑料福利社 H.R. 9495
H.R. 9495 proposed granting the Treasury Secretary unilateral authority to revoke the tax-exempt status of nonprofits suspected of supporting terrorist organizations.

  • Concerns Raised:听Critics argued that this broad authority could be used to chill free speech and disproportionately impact nonprofits providing humanitarian aid in politically sensitive regions.
  • Existing Safeguards:听Current laws, such as the Patriot Act and IRS Section 501(p), already allow for action against organizations with ties to terrorism but include additional procedural safeguards.
  • Ongoing Scrutiny:听While this bill has not passed, the current political climate suggests that nonprofits鈥攑articularly those engaged in DEI, humanitarian aid, and advocacy work鈥攎ay continue to face increased scrutiny.

How We鈥檙e Addressing These Concerns
黑料福利社 is committed to ensuring compliance with all laws while doing our best to safeguard the sustainability of the projects we support. Our processes and systems are designed to protect our projects鈥 viability, and we are actively monitoring legislative developments to stay ahead of potential risks.

While we can鈥檛 predict the future of nonprofit regulations, we encourage our projects to stay informed, follow best practices, and proactively engage with expert听guidance from our Client Services and Legal team.

Resources to Stay Informed
For further insights on H.R. 9495, we recommend expert perspectives such as those shared by听. The National Council of Nonprofits has also created a , which is an excellent resource.

Additionally, our projects are encouraged to access resources available to them in the Project Portal for ongoing updates and resources related to the nonprofit sector.

In response to the devastating wildfires that have swept through Los Angeles, 黑料福利社 has launched a new听Wildfire Rapid Response听service to provide immediate support for affected communities. By offering fiscal sponsorship and administrative resources, we aim to be of service to local leaders and organizations in their recovery efforts.

A History of Rapid Response in Times of Crisis

黑料福利社 has a long history of stepping up in moments of disaster. From supporting Mission Science Workshop after its facility burned down to mobilizing funds for Alameda County鈥檚 COVID-19 relief efforts, we have consistently provided the infrastructure necessary to channel charitable giving and streamline emergency response.

The lessons learned from these past experiences reinforce the need for听community-led solutions听in times of crisis. Now, as Los Angeles residents navigate the long road to recovery, we are here to offer the same vital support.

Why 黑料福利社?

In recent meetings with funders, LA County leadership, and grassroots organizations, a clear need has emerged: residents impacted by the听Eaton and Palisades wildfires听are calling for localized, community-driven rebuilding efforts. Fiscal sponsorship offers a powerful solution, enabling groups to access funding, establish credibility, and scale their impact without the administrative burden of forming a standalone nonprofit.

How We Support Fire Relief Efforts

Our Wildfire Rapid Response service provides:

  • Fiscal sponsorship听for individuals, neighborhood groups, and corporate initiatives.
  • Compliance and administrative support听to ensure projects can focus on direct relief.
  • Access to receive funding听through grants and donations.
  • Resources for emergency housing, food distribution, and long-term rebuilding.

Whether you鈥檙e looking to听launch a new initiative听辞谤听expand an existing effort, our team is here to help navigate the complexities of disaster relief.

Get Involved

For those looking to support wildfire recovery, visit our听Los Angeles County Wildfire Resource Guide, where we have compiled information from multiple sources to assist affected individuals and communities.

Together, we can rebuild stronger.

If you receive notification to evacuate, please do so. You will not only save your life, that of your pet and our emergency personnel. Pack essentials (sneakers, extra clothing, jacket), including medications, important documents, 听ID, 听and needed personal and pet supplies. Have your vehicle ready to go and don’t forget to wear your mask. Due to the poor air quality, the best mask to wear is a听N95 or a P100 respirator mask.
